I am committed to enhancing the quality of education within Wake County. As a board member, I will focus on school safety, increasing teacher pay, and students performing better in reading, writing, math and history. Join us in making a positive impact on our local schools.
Every school in Wake County must be a safe place to learn. I will prioritize security measures, clear safety protocols, and a culture where students and staff feel protected every day. Rules and consequences need to be set in place that everyone will follow without exception.
Attract and retain excellent teachers with salaries that reflect the critical importance of their work.
These students should not fall through the cracks. We need to budget wisely so that every student gets the education they need and deserve.

"The objects of this primary education...would be...to form the statesmen, legislators, and judges, on whom public prosperity and individual happiness are so much to depend."
Thomas Jefferson
Improve school meals with healthier, locally sourced food that is better for students and can actually cost less by supporting local producers and reducing waste.
Every grade should read at their level or higher. Students who are proficient readers will do better overall.
Encourage every student to get involved in sports and expand opportunities for activity through clubs, intramurals, and other outlets so more kids stay active and healthy in body and mind.

About Ann
I grew up in a family of educators and a father who was a teacher, coach and ultimately the assistant superintendent of the public school system I went through.
Proud mom of four daughters who all attended and are attending Wake County Public Schools. Elise and Brooke both graduated from North Carolina State University with degrees in Aerospace Engineering. Adelle graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Environmental Science. They all have successful careers in their fields of study. Ariella is a senior at Willow Spring High School.
I have served as a substitute teacher in our schools for many years and bring a B.S. Degree in History from SUNY Brockport, along with extensive customer service experience. I was a stay-at-home mom for my daughters and spent countless hours volunteering in my kids schools, sports and clubs. I am currently a full-time Personal Shopper at Harris Teeter.
